A Network or more precisely a Computer Network is a collection of computers
connected to each other by means of cables and various other devices so that they
can communicate with each other to share information and hardware resources.
Depending on the area covered by a network, computer networks can be of three
main types.
1) Local Area Network (LAN)
A Local Area Network (LAN) is a network within an office, building or campus.
2) Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)
A Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is a network within a town or a city.
3) Wide Area Network (WAN)
A Wide Area Network (WAN) is a network spread across a country or even across continents.

1) SHARING INFORMATION - computer network plays a great role to provide all the information
that are stored in different computers to the management using
computer network.
2) SHARING RESOURCES - For example, instead of buying a printer for each computers, connect
the printer to all the computers in the network. in this way, all the
network users can share one central printer.
